A group of Nigerians numbering up to 40 (33 males and seven females)
were jointly deported by the UK and Australia after they were alleged to
have committed various forms of offences in the two mentioned
countries.
Reports say the deportees who were flown into the country in two
chartered flights arrived the Hajj Camp area of the Murtala Muhammed
International Airport at 7:25 a.m. this morning.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, four of the deportees were
repatriated through an Air Seychelles aircraft with registration number
SND-1, while 36 other deportees were flown into the country in a
chartered aircraft with registration number ZTA -4741.
The deportees according to sources were received on arrival by
various agencies such as the National Agency for Protection and
Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and
men of the Nigerian police.
