Kylie Jenner disables her Instagram comments section as the site is set to make public new tool to tackle trolls

Instagram users will soon be able to remove unwanted opinions from their accounts. On July 29, Washington Post revealed that Instagram was planning to unveil a new tool to block abusive comments to combat the issue.

Users of the app will be able to filter their own comment streams/ban certain words from showing up beside their photos and if they wish, completely turn off comments on their own posts. The new tool will first be implemented on some popular accounts, followed by all accounts within a few months.

Our goal is to make Instagram a friendly, fun and, most importantly, safe place for self expression. We have slowly begun to offer accounts with high volume comment threads the option to moderate their comment experience. As we learn, we look forward to improving the comment experience for our broader community.” -  said Instagram's head of public policy, Nicky Jackson Colaco.

Kylie Jenner has however used the tool and can no longer see negative comments on her Instagram page
