Eight Days of Interior Design
The
PAID Virtual Summit is organized around eight packed weekdays, each
with a focus on salient and timely topics in for the African Interior
Design professional or enthusiast.
Day One: ‘Introduction to Interior Design’
Four
sessions that will serve as a guide for those seeking clarity on the
history of interior design, what interior design is, and what it means
to be an interior designer.
Day Two: ‘The Career’
A
deep dive for participants at the beginning of their careers, looking
to increase their impact as an interior designer, or looking to start
their own practice; Day Two will explore the differences between being a
designer and being a decorator, the knots and bolts of running an
interior design business, and more. A considerable amount of time will
be dedicated to those contemplating a career change into Interior
Design.
Day Three: ‘Finding Your Place’.
Successful
Interior designers have one thing in common, they have carved out a
niche for themselves. Day Three will seek to impart that valuable
knowledge to participants. How exactly will they set themselves apart,
especially as an African or Africa enthusiast in this volatile and
exciting industry
Day Four: ‘Design and People’
Design
thinking has taken over not just the creatives space but also the
larger business community. Day Five will push the discussion further and
localize it, How can we apply design thinking to solve some unique
problems in the industry.
Day Five: ‘ Design Africa’
What
are the peculiarities of operating within an African context? On Day
Six the summit will invite experts to tackle this problem. Topics range
from how to source partnerships for growth to how to overcome that
challenges involved in sourcing locally
Day Six: ‘Building Your Profile’
At
the end of the day, Interior Design Houses are businesses as much as
they are living solutions providers. Day Seven will equip participants
with the essentials of running a business and understanding how to find,
keep incredible talent.
Day Seven: ‘Virtual Tours’
What
are the inner-workings of an interior design studio? On Day Eight The
Virtual Summit will give participants an exclusive pass into unique
design studios across the world. From the Paris Forino Studio in New
York city to Woodwork factories here in Nigeria. These extensive
coverage will immerse you into the day-to-day of a design studio.

The Summit will be Hosted by the amazing Award winning Lagos Interiors designers Lara Lape Cameron-Cole and Osaru Alile
and organized by Osayi Emokpae Ilasisi. With over 45 Interior designers
and teaching professionals participating in The PAID Virtual Summit,
the breadth and depth of their collective experience will help to shape
the careers of participants of The Summit. We are pleased to have on
board, One of New York’s favorite Interior Designers Michael Adams, the versatile, highly sought after interior designer to the stars and a star of the USA TV show TOP Design Titi Ogufere, one of the bastions of interior design in Nigeria. a widely celebrated designer (who has won over 100 prestigious Interior
Design awards) and lecturer at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

hours of engaging content (25 sessions, each 35-45mins long).

Osaro is extremely passionate about creativity, education
and empowering Young Nigerian Entrepreneurs. Her passion inspired her to

Interior Designers here in Lagos, CID has run for 3 years now –
Inspiring and training young design creatives interested in interior
design. She also acts as the judge of Nigeria’s 1st ever competitive
reality TV show “Interiors By Design”. Osaru was recently selected as an
assistant curator for the “African Cultural and Design Festival” ACDF
Design Pavilion. She is an associate with the ‘Women in Management,
Business and Public Service’ (WIMBIZ), a Vital Voices GROW Fellow and
sits as the education chair, Interior Design Association of Nigeria
(IDAN), on the board of advisors of IDPs Aid and Relief Foundation.
After being a WEF (World Economic Forum) Lagos Global Shaper for 5
years, she now sits as a member of the governing board supporting the

Lara Lape Cameron-Cole
Lara
Lape Cameron-Cole is an entrepreneur, working in the creative industry
as co-founder of CC Interiors Limited, a multiple award-winning Interior
Design business, CaxtonAlile Living and Apparel Partners Limited, an
apparel manufacturing company. She is also a consultant within the
Apparel Manufacturing space.
She has a master’s degree from the University of Arts, London College of Fashion in Fashion Entrepreneurship, focusing on Apparel Manufacturing and a bachelor’s degree from Howard University, Washington, D.C.

Lara
Lape started off her career at citigroup, New York, as a bond-trading
analyst but moved into the creative industry to specialize in Interior
Design and has never looked back. She has worked as an Interior Designer
for over 10years, concentrating in residential and commercial spaces.
Being a multifaceted human, Lara Lape is working on living out her dream
of building an apparel manufacturing business. As a consequence, her
research expeditions have led to her co-authoring The Sourcing Handbook
for UK-India Apparel Manufacturing, a published guide and handbook
currently available in the British Library.
